Here is the guest comic from MC Miller and Jen Hernandez over at http://buttersword.com/. Thank you so much for taking the time to make a guest comic.

Haha. Interesting idea.
Thanks Maggi.
I’m not sure how interesting it is, but it could be fun.
Maggi, we will have to try this the next time we play chess
That could make play significantly more interesting!
Or less, but it might be worth a test.
Hmm… It might make it more interesting.
Thanks guys! It could obviously use some development, but it might be fun for an occasional change of pace. During a friendly game.
If you want to spice up a game of chess you can also try Fischer Random
Another great guest comic!
Thanks alecho!
The coward – a classic chess piece! You just may have revolutionized the chess industry, MC! Great strip, love that top panel, keeping the Monopoly theme rolling…!
Thanks Mark! I don’t think I could actually improve chess, but if they have Beer Chess, then The Coward could be a nice addition.
Someone should really get started on that Beer Chess.
Hehe! Beer Chess? That sounds like a fun game.. How is it played?
Ha Ha A great guest comic MC & Jen. The coward is a brilliant concept & will add more interesting moves to the future of professional chess tournaments. Well done!!!
Thanks Tony! I think we thought of The Coward in more of an around the house setting. We’d be amazed if a tournament ever used it. They might think it was funny though, and we’d like that.
Having a chess tournament with different set of rules might be a fun way to raise awareness for a good goes.
From Monty Pytrhon’s Holy Grail:
Brave Sir Pawn ran away
Bravely ran away
When the knight piece reared it’s ugly head
Brave Coward Pawn turned his tail & fled
Brave, brave, brave Sir Pawn ran away…

I love that song.
LOL! It’s been too long since I’ve seen the Holy Grail
Doh, I just noticed I spelt Python wrong. Stupid keyboard, why is the R next to the T so I can accidently bump it anyway???
That’s a great idea! There’s too many pawns anyway!
Thanks Binky! Pawn would likely disagree with you though.
There is no such thing as too many pawns!
Sure sure sure…I start the monopoly references and everyone has to jump on board..haha
Great job!
Hahaha! You’ve opened Pandora’s box.
Thanks Bearman!
I like the monopoly stuff. Also it was fun to draw Pawn in that car.
O.K. to conclude… since people might actually want to use The Coward I propose these simple additions:
1.) The easiest way to tell The Coward apart from the other pawns would be to use two pawns from a different chess set. Otherwise… a dot of yellow paint.
2.) To select the starting position of The Coward, roll an 8 sided die (dice) and place The Coward in front of that piece. This would prevent planning to use The Coward to take out opponents queens and such. More of a random placement for fun.
3.) After The Coward moves back one space, landing directly in front of The Coward a second time drives The Coward backward off the board and The Coward is removed from play.
4.) The Coward is always taken from play normally by landing on The Coward just as any other pawn is taken.
5.) That’s all, but someone needs to get seriously busy designing that Beer Chess I mentioned.
Thanks Hjörtur!
HAHA! Thank you, I’m going to give this a try.
Hahaha…
he who turns and runs away will live to run another day!
